We now have the capability on the Speech Empowered Computing website to incorporate video footage.
Today, we uploaded a “video introduction†to www.speechempoweredcomputing.co.uk . It’s on the lower left hand side. You click on the control to play the video. Videos are in “streaming” format so they load quite quickly on a broadband connection. Read the rest of this entry »

I have made an evaluation of the Sennheiser PC 130 PC headset microphone in comparison with the highly regarded Sennheiser ME3 vocal microphone for use with Dragon NaturallySpeaking voice recognition. This is described by Sennheiser as a PC headset microphone for use with music and gaming and is described as being suitable for voice recognition. Read the rest of this entry »

Dragon NaturallySpeaking lets you use your voice to move around within a document and edit the contents-whether or not that document was created by voice. As you learned, the software transcribes your dictation wherever the insertion point is. In this lesson, you learn to highlight text by voice (as you would with mouse or keyboard) and move the insertion point anywhere in your document. Read the rest of this entry »

Pressing a key is often quicker than moving and clicking the mouse.
Although you can say “microphone off” or “stop listening” to turn the off the microphone, if you get interrupted by a phone call, it is often convenient to reach out and hit a key to turn the microphone off. Read the rest of this entry »
