Do you notice your Dragon user file size increases over time?

I recently sought advice from Chuck Runquist, former DNS SDK & Senior Technical Solutions PM for Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I noticed that after several weeks or months of use, the size of my user file went from typically around 25 to 30 MB to 180 Mb or more. I rasied the topic as my sense was that a fresh user file can be more responsive (speedier in performance) than an old user file. Read the rest of this entry »

The benefit of running the Acoustic and Language Model Optimizer

There has been quite a bit of debate on the user forums with past releases of Dragon NaturallySpeaking as to whether or not it is beneficial to run the Acoustic Optimizer. The Acoustic Optimizer takes corrections stored in the archive and uses the data to optimise a user’s speech file to improve accuracy. Some users with previous versions of Dragon NaturallySpeaking have reported reductions in accuracy and slowed response after running the Optimizer.

Olympus dictation and transcription module software

If you have an Olympus DS-4000 recorder or Olympus AS-4000 transcription kit, it’s important to be running the latest version to keep up with any changes made by Olympus to the software to keep pace with changes made by Microsoft to Windows XP and Vista.
